1. Introduction

Nangchen T Studio ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information across our mobile applications and this website (collectively, "Services"), including:

  • Sixty-Three: National Parks (iOS and Android)
  • Tibetan English Dictionary (iOS and Android)
  • Tibetan Alphabet Game (iOS and Android, coming soon)

This policy is intended to meet the requirements of the Apple App Store (including App Privacy details), Google Play (including the Data safety section, User Data policy and Families Policy), and privacy laws worldwide, including the EU/EEA GDPR, UK GDPR, Swiss FADP, California CCPA/CPRA and other U.S. state laws, COPPA, Canada's PIPEDA, Brazil's LGPD, Australia's Privacy Act, Japan's APPI, South Korea's PIPA, China's PIPL, India's DPDP Act and similar laws.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

Our apps are designed with privacy-first principles. By default, we do not collect:

  • Your name, address, phone number, or email
  • Your contacts, photos, calendar, or messages
  • Your precise location (unless you explicitly grant permission for park trip planning)
  • Search queries or dictionary lookups (these stay on your device)
  • Game scores or progress (stored only locally on your device)
  • Browsing history or behavior across other apps or websites
  • Health, financial, biometric, or other sensitive data
  • Microphone, camera, or files on your device (our apps do not request these permissions)

3. Information We May Collect

a) Information You Voluntarily Provide

If you contact us via email or the website contact form, we receive your email address and the contents of your message. We use this only to respond to you.

b) Location (Sixty-Three: National Parks only)

If you grant permission, the app uses your approximate location to recommend nearby parks. Location data is processed entirely on your device and never sent to our servers. You can revoke this permission at any time in iOS Settings or Android Settings → Apps → Permissions. On Android, the app requests only approximate (coarse) location, never background location.

c) Anonymous Analytics (Optional)

We may use Apple's standard, anonymous App Analytics provided through App Store Connect (e.g., crash reports, install counts). This data is aggregated, anonymous, and contains no personally identifiable information. You can opt out via iOS Settings → Privacy → Analytics & Improvements.

On Android, we may see anonymous, aggregated diagnostics (crashes, ANRs, installs, device model and OS version) provided by Google Play Console. These contain no personal identifiers and are collected by Google under its own privacy policy.

d) Advertising (If Present in Free Versions)

If we introduce advertising in a future free version, we will use Google AdMob. AdMob may collect advertising identifiers (IDFA on iOS, Advertising ID on Android), IP address, device information, and approximate location for ad personalization, subject to your choices: on iOS, App Tracking Transparency; on Android, "Delete advertising ID" and ad personalization settings in Settings → Privacy → Ads; in the EEA, UK and Switzerland, our consent prompt (Google-certified CMP / UMP) before any personalized ads. You can always choose non-personalized ads. See Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy. Paid and ad-free versions of our apps show no ads and do not use AdMob.

4. How We Use Information

When we do receive information (e.g., your support email), we use it solely to:

  • Respond to your inquiries and provide customer support
  • Investigate and fix bugs you report
  • Improve our apps based on aggregated feedback
  • Comply with legal obligations

Legal bases (GDPR / UK GDPR): where those laws apply, we process your information on the basis of your consent (e.g., location permission, personalized ads), our legitimate interests (replying to support requests, keeping the apps working and secure) and, where needed, legal obligation.

5. Data Sharing & Third Parties

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share limited information only with:

  • Apple — for App Store distribution and anonymous analytics (per Apple's privacy policy)
  • Google — for Google Play distribution, anonymous Play Console diagnostics, and AdMob in ad-supported versions, subject to Google's privacy policy
  • Email and website service providers — to deliver your messages and (if you subscribe) our newsletter
  • Legal authorities — only when required by law (e.g., valid court order)

We do not "sell" or "share" personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA/CPRA, and we do not use personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising except through the optional ad features described in Section 3(d). We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you.

6. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

Our apps are rated 4+ and are safe for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it immediately.

Where our apps are intended for or appeal to children, we follow the Google Play Families Policy and Apple's Kids Category rules: no behavioral advertising, no third-party analytics that identify children, and no links or purchases without a parental gate. In the EU/UK, the age of digital consent varies by country (13–16); we do not process the personal data of children below that age without verifiable parental consent. Parents and guardians may contact us at any time to review or delete any information.

7. Data Storage & Security

Because our apps work offline, the vast majority of your data — searches, gameplay, settings — never leaves your device. Any data you do send to us (e.g., email inquiries) is stored on secure providers that meet industry standards. We retain support emails for up to 2 years before deletion. We use encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) for any network communication, and our apps do not require an account, so there is no account to delete. Uninstalling an app removes all of its locally stored data. If a personal data breach affecting you occurs, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law (for example, within 72 hours to GDPR supervisory authorities where applicable).

8. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights. We honor these rights for all users worldwide, regardless of location:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you, and receive a portable copy
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your information
  • Restrict or object to processing, including for direct marketing
  • Withdraw consent at any time (without affecting earlier processing)
  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and of targeted advertising (we do not sell your data)
  • Not be discriminated against for exercising your rights
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

To exercise any of these rights, email us at . We respond within 30 days (45 days under CCPA, extendable where permitted by law). We may need to verify your identity first, and you may use an authorized agent.

Regional notes

  • EU / EEA / UK / Switzerland: GDPR, UK GDPR and Swiss FADP rights apply. You may complain to your national supervisory authority (in the UK, the ICO).
  • California and other U.S. states (e.g., Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas, Utah): CCPA/CPRA and state privacy-law rights, including the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out. We honor Global Privacy Control signals on our website.
  • Canada: PIPEDA and applicable provincial laws (including Quebec Law 25). You may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
  • Brazil: LGPD rights, including confirmation of processing, anonymization, and portability. You may contact the ANPD.
  • Australia / New Zealand: Australian Privacy Principles and the NZ Privacy Act; you may contact the OAIC or the NZ Privacy Commissioner.
  • Japan, South Korea, China, India, Singapore and other Asia-Pacific countries: APPI, PIPA, PIPL, DPDP Act, PDPA and equivalent laws, to the extent provided by those laws.
  • Africa and Middle East: POPIA (South Africa), NDPA (Nigeria), UAE and Saudi PDPL and similar laws, to the extent provided by those laws.

9. International Users

Our Services are operated from the United States. If you access our Services from outside the U.S., you understand that your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States, which may have different data protection rules than your country. Where required (for example, transfers from the EEA, UK or Switzerland), we rely on safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions, and our service providers (Apple, Google, email hosts) maintain their own transfer mechanisms such as the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework. Because we collect almost no personal data, international transfers are limited to emails you send us.

10. App Store & Google Play Disclosures

In line with Apple's App Privacy details and Google Play's Data safety section, our store listings state:

  • Data collected: none linked to your identity. Optional approximate location (Sixty-Three: National Parks) is processed on-device only. Ad-supported versions may collect device or advertising identifiers through AdMob, as described in Section 3(d).
  • Data used to track you: none, unless you opt in to personalized ads where an ad-supported version is offered.
  • Data shared with third parties: none, except advertising data via AdMob in ad-supported versions.
  • Data encrypted in transit: yes, wherever the app uses the network.
  • Data deletion: there is no account; uninstall the app to remove all local data, or email us to delete anything you sent us.

11. Device Permissions

Our apps request the minimum permissions needed:

  • Approximate location (optional, National Parks only): to suggest nearby parks. Never background location.
  • Network access (Android: INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE): for optional features such as ads, updates, and opening links.
  • Advertising ID (Android, ad-supported versions only): for ad delivery. You may reset or delete it in system settings.

We do not request access to your camera, microphone, contacts, photos, files, SMS, call logs, or health data.

12. Do Not Track & Cookies

Our apps use no cookies. Our website uses only essential storage on your device (for example, to remember your light/dark theme). We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. We respond to Global Privacy Control signals and treat browser "Do Not Track" requests as an opt-out of any tracking.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will notify users via an in-app message, store listing update, or website banner, and will seek fresh consent where the law requires it.
